There are lots of Gender Stereotypes in movies. Many movies directed towards young girls tend to include princess or anything to do with pink and fashion. Boys are used to watch avengers or cars, any movie that include aggressive actions . Mostly, parents don’t seem to support their girls playing with cars or their boys to playing with Barbies.
Also, there are lots of gender stereotypes in movies that are watched by little boys and girls. If they watch these movies they are going to subconsciously learn these gender stereotypes. But what if adults teach them that there are acceptations that girls can like blue and boys can like pink. Don’t you think it’s time to make a change?

Here are some examples of movies that have gender stereotypes:
* Cinderella- she has to clean, wash and cook while her step sisters are fancy and use make up. * Aladdin- he is adventurous and charming but Jasmine is elegant and uses lot of makeup. * Aurora- poor Aurora she mostly only sleeps in the movie while Prince Phillip saves the day. * Snow White- Snow White is supposed to clean and cook in order to stay in the dwarf’s house. *Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer- The boys work while the girls stay at home doing house work. *Avatar- The girl is adventurous and helps the man in the woods. *Girl fight- A girl Here are some examples of movies that don’t have gender stereotypes: * Ariel- she saves the prince, she doesn’t clean, wash or cook, but most importantly she is really ADVENTUROUS. * Belle- she doesn’t need saving as long as she has a book with her. * Frozen- Anna doesn’t need ton be saved either does Elsa. *Brave- Merida proves that she doesn't need a man to keep her safe. *Billy Elliot- he is a boy that does ballet. *Just one of the guys- The girl plays football like a man. |
